Transportation:
For those traveling by air, you can now fly into either SeaTac Airport or Everett’s Paine Field (limited to United and Alaska Airlines).
SeaTac, approximately 3 hours from Whidbey Island, offers all the services and convenience of an International airport. All Rental Car agencies are available and there is a Whidbey-SeaTac Shuttle service. I’ll be talking with the shuttle service to see if I can secure a special rate for reunion attendees.
Paine Field is approximately 1.5 hours from Whidbey Island and is serviced by United and Alaska Airlines. Most Rental Car agencies are available by shuttle to off airport rental sites and Whidbey-SeaTac Shuttle also serves Paine Field.
For those driving or renting cars, my personal recommendation would be to use the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry, a quick 20 minutes ferry ride across the Puget Sound and about a 45 minute drive from Clinton to Oak Harbor for a much more relaxing and scenic drive than the frequently heavy traffic challenges on the I-5 corridor. The shuttle service also uses the ferry crossing unless you are arriving very late at night.
